Takumar f2.5 135mm

Dont know what to say ...

The lens is sensitive to light ( shooting into the sun ) , and direct sunlight does seem to give issue ..
But with the sun at your back , the lens works rather well ..

Where the lens excels is in low light , wonderful low light lens ..

Seriously , if you wanted one , they are relatively cheap on Ebay ATM ( 21-Aug -2013 )

Good demo of what this lens can do. For many years the Takumar 135 f2.5 was my only telephoto and it served me well. I have not used it since the aperture blades got sticky. Thanks for restoring my faith. I think I will have to test my lens servicing skills and get it back into action. As you say, it is a good low light lens. I have seen some claims that it is not really f2.5 but it certainly is. It shows half a stop faster than the FA 135 f2.8 when tested side by side.

Mine is the Takumar Bayonet and I believe the sample pics are too. Very bright light and into the light are a problem because it is not SMC coated.

Mod needs to change the title on this thread. There are three possible optical configs that could be called "Takumar 135mm f2.5":
• Super-Takumar to S-M-C Takumar (version 1)
• S-M-C Takumar (version 2)
• Takumar Bayonet

Apparently this one is the Takumar Bayonet.

No change needed, I have stored/indexed it under takumar Bayonette and therefore it should be easy to find. That is why I asked what exact lens it was.

I have to work a bit more w/ this lens, but it is capable of great results. This one with tough theater lighting at f3.2 1/160 ISO800 on a K-x

Mine is the Bayonet model. A lovely old lens that has served me well over the years and still remains one of my favorites.
