Steve. By LaCA I assume you mean lateral chromatic aberration. I see that too, in the doorknob photo there is purple green shift (purple to the right, green to the left).

I also see LoCA in the skateboard photo to the left of the board, and in the doorknob photo. So both are evident in that photo. Mostly I get LoCA with my copy, but occasionally I get both too. Not a huge issue but does occur wide open to around f3.5.
In any case I see it in both the doorknob photo and also in the skateboard photo. Not really that bad compared to some other lenses but still there nonetheless. I have the same thing with my copy which is a Sears branded version of the same exact lens.
I use the lens stopped down alot (@f4.0-5.6) and it goes away.
For wide open shots with this lens I prefer B&W conversions.
