Hi
I recently purchased this old lens. It is metal so nice and solid compared to modern kit lenses. Of course it has not automatic focus function but I found that I could get nice sharp focus by using the spot focussing function on my K-500, manually adjusting the focus on the lens until the camera beeped to indicate the spot was in focus and then holding the focus with the shutter half depressed I could compose the photo. Exposure was done with the green button. This all takes a long time seemed to be effective.
I wanted to use the lens for macro work but it is only 1:2 so not true macro. I solved this by adding an extension tube (manual with no glass). All the close ups below were done with the smallest extension tube in the set. Focussing distance was about 4 feet so quite convenient for the subjects.
I was pretty pleased with the results from this lens. I have included a photo of the lens below. Does anyone have any info on it?
Let me know your thoughts on the lens and my photos - all taken on a trip to the Royal Horticultural Society gardens at Wiseley just outside on London.
Thanks
Chris
