Hanimex MC 135mm F2.8 PK mount

Hi,

I bought one of the subject lens today for a might price of $20 from a local op shop. When I got home I decided to do some research as it was a impulse buy. Well just about everything I read made me feel like I has wasted my $20. But I went ahead and gave it a go anyways. The lens is nice and solid all metal with a really nice chunky and grippy focus ring, it weighs in at 450g and sits really nicely on my K30.

Now I am no lens expert but I think I will be keeping this one.

Cheers

Jason

Jason, that does look like a keeper.
$20... maybe the bargain of the year.

Hanimex, it seems, was one of the more pervasive of the resellers, acquiring lenses wherever and selling everywhere. Their iffy reputation is largely because they competed primarily on price. But the name did end up on good optics , like my Hanimex (tamron) nestar 400mm for example.

135's are a bit like nifty fifty's, a known design, and even simpler to make. As tests like this one show most 135's are at least decent.

Update this looks like the same lens

Hi Rod, I am thinking it may be, almost as good at the 55mm lens I picked up for $10

Cheers

Thank you all for the replies.

Just thought I would throw in a portrait with the lens, taken at F2.8. Excuse the subject, she is the only willing one I have.

cheers
