Vivitar 75-260 f4.5 zoom lens

Just for grins and giggles I dug out this old heavy beast and stuck it on my K3. I don't even remember how long I have owned it. M42 screw mount. I believe it was made by Tokina back in the day. This is a cropped photo of a crocus. My favorite flower as it blooms so early with the promise of spring ahead. All it all it did a lot better that I thought it would. Zooms back then were not known for their quality and very few pros ever put them on their cameras. Shot at f4.5. I did have to add some contrast but that was about it.

A very nice photo. I've owned this lens in TX, T4 and fixed M42 mount. It is serviceable but not truly outstanding.

Thank you. I agree with your assessment of the lens. I tried it simply because it is a 40 year old zoom lens and I actually did not expect to get results this good. In the olden days zoom lenses were considered for amateurs. Contrast and image quality was not great but for an amateur they did save them form buying a myriad of primes. Good enough for most consumer print films and papers of the day. Definitely built like a tank.
