Difficult to nail the focus, but the OOF is just beautiful.

Not a bad idea, but there are already a fair number of film shots (e.g. "full frame", a few of mine even) in the original sample thread for this lens. There are already so many sample threads it seems it might be wise to simply keep them together for posterity and just note the format/camera used.

The idea is to make it easier to search on manual lenses as used on K-1 (and subsequent Pentax FF digital cameras) rather than being forced to scroll through page after page of images to find K-1 shots.

The Search Engine will build an array of images found across the entire Forum for any Automatic lens (F and later) shot on any camera, but manual lenses (A and earlier) don't attach a lens identifier in EXIF.

But whatever. Some people have asked for this. Others think it is clutter. I personally want to specifically see samples on K-1.

Oh, I understand - I just think it fragments the image samples personally. If it were taken another logical step, there should be separate threads for manual K-mount samples for all three: APSC, 35mm and full-frame. Theoretically the 35mm images already show how the lens behaves and I think it's more useful to see them together in a thread, contrasting the different formats.

All that said - I don't really care a whole lot but do worry that if this follows for all manual lenses, things could get "messy".

Agreed, that's an issue, but there are also members asking for some method to find the specific K-1 images easily because they're spread all over the Forum. Lowell is merging the FF Sample Threads into the Sample Forum Index, so the FF Index Sticky will probably go away. I suppose it is similar to the Q Sample threads; it is another format.,

The next question is whether it makes sense to link the individual manual lens K-1 images from all the 'Club' threads and the 'Post your K-1 Images' thread into a FF Sample thread by lens - but the work to do that is probably prohibitive, or will be very soon.

Frankly, if the Members don't see a benefit I'll gladly not do the work.

I feel that this thread is not doing justice to the lens, by not having more pictures taken with this lens. Hence I decided to contribute a few pictures.

I think the pictures speaks for themselves.

I had an A-50mm f1.2 which I have sold and have regretted it ever since.
I am thinking of getting a K version of this lens. The optical formula looks the same...but is it?
I would love to get back an A version but they are at least $200 more

Boz's Page links to the same formula drawing for both lenses. Apparently only the coatings are different - the K is warmer. Prices converge where a cosmetic EX+ K competes with a well used A, both with great optics. +/- $400.

The A also has 1 more aperture blade.

Eff it, I pulled the trigger on a K50mm f1.2. I will post some samples with my K-1 as soon as it comes

That wide-open glow reminds me of the Olympus OM 55 1.2 - wonder if there's something in the optical formula?
