Woah, does it actually have "A" contacts (KA mount)? There was confusion/controversy over this as on the comments on the website Laowa said it would have a lever and contacts and then said it wouldn't. I said I'll believe it when I see it

Am I seeing things or is this lens noticeably smaller than the Irix 15 pair of lenses?

This looks like a good lens for the crop sensor folks. Nice bonus that it works on full frame.

That is why I did inlcude the images of the lens showing the "A"-position of the aperture ring and the mount with the contacts. It works like an PENTAX-A lens in all regards.
I set it to F8 and focus in between infinity and 3 m and all is set, usually.
The build quality is outstanding, very much like the K or A series. All robust metal and glass, even the hood is solid metal.

Yes, it is smaller that the Irix and Samyang UWAs. If you want to compare, it's next best fit with regards to size is the DFA 28-105 (which is about 5mm longer though). Due to all metal and glass it is more heavy though.

I wanted it exactly because of it's portability, so I can pack it when travelling. All other UWAs tend to be prohibitively clunky. Considering it is all FF + 12mm + F2.8 the size is a little wonder.

My dream setup would be 12/2.8 + 24/2.8 (not existing yet) + 77/1.8.

Quite impressive, may be not zero distortion but little enough that I think they can get away with the name.

You'll have to try some astrotracer shots and see how it performs with those.
