Here is my go at a couple of macro shots on my brand new KP and (also brand new) 55-300mm PLM. Was lucky with the fly catch - was actually photography another spider a metre away when I caught a motion in my peripheral vision, and saw this spider moving to the new catch in its web.

A few K-1 and DA 55-300 PLM, awesome light weight telephoto and quite acceptable if you leave room to crop.

Cows always look like they know something you don't, and they are never going to tell you.

Great fur detail.

Saw this sea raptor flying by with a catch and barely had time to get the camera out of the bag. Lighting very bad. RAW image is almost totally solid black and solid white. Focus very quick and dirty. Didn't even get the zoom well adjusted.

Requires extensive PP in Silkypix including HDR slider as well as Shadows (+) and highlights (-).

That said, while lucky to get anything at all the pic is still interesting as the fish appears to be a flatfish which I always assumed would be beyond the reach of any raptor as they are usually down a ways. 55-300 PLM does its job yet again!

The image (pun intended) of how you describe what the original of this shot looked like sounds like one I would have immediately thrown out. So, NICE WORK!

I am having enough trouble trying to improve my level of picture-taking - a universe away from performing magic with imaging software!!

Cross posted from another thread.... with regards to the IQ of the PLM.

K-1 with DA 55-300. Heavily cropped. Taken from about 100 meters... cropped to 9 MP, then reduced again to 4 MP? How good do you want?

A pixel peeper, it may not be razor sharp but it's also hand held and 75-100 meters away. I'm not sure you get much better with a better lens. It's certainly adequate for my needs, if you don't look at the ƒ6.3 part. The DA 55-300 PLM lens was designed for 24 MP APS_c. The larger pixels on FF make it even better.

Uncropped version.

This lens has to be one of the most underrated on the planet.
