I know what you mean, I've taken a lot of those boring ones, but this one has a lot going for it, the great sky, the emptiness, n boats or people, and the birds don't hurt it at all, it is compelling.

Thanks for an intriguing comment. I think it's true that images like this are kind of cliche shots, but what drew me to this was the attractiveness of the light combined with the dark clouds in the background. Without the great light a shot like just doesn't work.

Here's a very different subject, also shot with the KP:

Thinking more on it (I've actually returned to it a few time as I was so intrigued by my reaction myself) I'm remembering getting the same feeling--though for a slightly different reason--when I saw my first Colville painting. He very clearly liked/was drawn to/deeply studied light too.
