Soligor C/D 35mm f2 P

I noticed no other thread for this lens; it does not seem like a very common lens

I recently purchased this copy, in M42 mount - this line of lenses was manufactured by Tokina for Soligor

I really like these shots! Particularly the black and white of the eggs! By the way, I want to thank you again for the Rokinon 8mm f-3.5 I bought from you a while back!
I have been using it quite a lot!

Unfortunately this is not the case with all Soligor's.
Most Sun-made ones, especially zooms, are barely average.
The C/D P line, and some old preset objectives, especially the expensive super-fast ones, are at a completely different level.
I don't own the 2/35mm, but I have three other C/D P lenses (2/28mm, 2/135mm, 2.8/200mm) and one that does not sport the red "P" but is practically identical to the others (2.8/100mm macro).
All these lenses were at the very top of the optical technology of the time, and the jewels of the crown of Tokina's mechanical and optical quality.
Together with Pepperberry Farm's 2/35mm and the 55mm macro, they make a "family" of outstanding lenses, considering that they were designed around 1970!
I still have to test the 200mm, all the others are very good performers, very fast and extremely well made.
I'd love to have the 35mm too

Hi there, just joined. I received a parcel today which included the RMC Tokina 35mm C/D f2 lens which is identical to the Soligor above. I gather Tokina made the Soligor lens. Looks in great condition apart from a couple of dings on the filter ring which I hope doesn't affect the performance. Got the lot including an RMCTokina 135mm f2.8 plus Vivitar 2x Teleconverter a Minolta XG2 body which doesn't work (need to complain about that!) for about £29 including postage so if it is what it says on the tin I have done very well.
looking forward in testing it out at some point.

Thank Mark, I don't have a lot of Pentax stuff just some old lenses and a SP500 (Got free when I bought a lens) which has the battery compartment stuck. Suspect the battery has corroded. Hope to get some tools and take it apart. Still works on manual so not a problem apart from lack of meter.

Cheers
