Unfortunately this is not the case with all Soligor's.
Most Sun-made ones, especially zooms, are barely average.
The C/D P line, and some old preset objectives, especially the expensive super-fast ones, are at a completely different level.
I don't own the 2/35mm, but I have three other C/D P lenses (2/28mm, 2/135mm, 2.8/200mm) and one that does not sport the red "P" but is practically identical to the others (2.8/100mm macro).
All these lenses were at the very top of the optical technology of the time, and the jewels of the crown of Tokina's mechanical and optical quality.
Together with Pepperberry Farm's 2/35mm and the 55mm macro, they make a "family" of outstanding lenses, considering that they were designed around 1970!
I still have to test the 200mm, all the others are very good performers, very fast and extremely well made.
I'd love to have the 35mm too
