Sigma 24-70 2.8 EX DG HSM

Morning,

Doesn't seem that there's a thread for this one. Checked the archives and I'm absolutely certain nobody has sample photos of this lens.

So here are two of mine.

Took this early today with the 24-70mm EX DG aboard my K-1 as I was contemplating breakfast and saw this new thread. thought I'd jump on early.

What is odd is the EXIF data comes up as several different SIGMA lenses. Does anyone else have that issue with SIGMA?

That's a common problem with Sigma lenses and some software. The only identifying data actually recorded in the EXIF is an ID number. The software guesses the lens based on the ID number and focal length. If Sigma used the same ID number in more than one lens and the focal length changes, the software may change its guess.

TH: That makes sense because every other after market lens I use (including Tamron, Leica and Vivitar) shows the lens focal length at a minimum. The thing is over time you forget which SIGMA you utilized (I have several--their auto drive in the lenses are generally very quiet and fast). Oh well, it gives you incentive to try the lot I guess.

Thanks for taking the time to explain the phenomena.

Absolutely mine identifies on Flickr as a Sigma 70-200 2.8.

And folks complain about the Bokeh on it but I like mine.

It is a great lens.Sharp and the Bokeh is decent. On the K-1 it needs little correction. It only cost me $150.00 gently used. A bargain...

This lens really started to shine once I got a K3 to go with it.
