agreed - one caveat concerning the Irix, however, is that it is a manual-focus lens... while not an issue for macro shooting, as a telephoto lens, it can be somewhat limiting...
I have a few days off for the holiday, plus this coming weekend and I intend to stretch the Irix's legs a bit...

nothing truly notable other than it was bloody cold yesterday and the Irix can be heavy to use in 30mph wind without a tripod...
