Wonderfully vibrant photos pepperberry! My version is the 17 bladed Biotar T, made around 1950. When it arrived I was surprised at how small it was - packing in all those blades. Here it is between a Tessar and a Pancolar.

The early version is famous for providing the optical design for the Helios 44s, and it can swirl...in the right conditions..

I have to push the contrasts and colours quite a bit to get vibrant images, but there's no doubting the success of the optical design - the lens is sharp wide open and gets very sharp stopped down, with minimal purple fringing. Here are a few other images:

thank you - I'll be working with it to learn about the lens' character; I know that the coatings are going to limit bright sun shots, but beyond that I am quite satisfied so far....

(and I have to confess - I really want a Pancolar 55)

The Praktina FX is a very cool camera. I saw one in a shop several years ago and almost bought it. Sadly, I don't know about adapters to other mounts.
I tried (freelensing) - the lens would have to go into the mount for infinity focus, but the rear diameter doesn't fit the K-mount diameter, so it's limited to max. 2m. I'll see who I find for a CLA on the Praktina FX - still working but timing is off.
