Some very nice sample photos here with the one DA Limited that still eludes me...

One of the many things I've noticed about this lens is how good it is close up at the 40 end. It's better than the 40 Ltd, sharper and focuses slightly closer. This one is notable for me just dropping the camera on the floor and using image sync to connect and choose a focus area. If I get down this low he invariably gets up to investigate what's happening.

I just saw that Adorama is doing a kit with the K-3 III that knocks $350 off the price of a new one. Used is running $400...so much to think about.

Fabulous! This lens really does it for me. When I see some negative or lackluster reviews on the lens it has to be user error or just a bad lens. I was going to wait a bit and get some time under my belt learning the craft but after seeing all the pics in this thread especially the sunrise and sunsets makes me want this leans more the ever. I face west at my house and we have some amazing sunsets set in an urban environment. This lens would really do justice to the setting.

Thanks, it does really shine for sunrises and sunsets, unfortunately I have been unable to get any lately. I may be charged with blasphemy, but I really think it is better than the 15 Ltd.

I should have my copy next week. It is sat at the parcel force depot, waiting for me to pay the customs charges, which I will as soon as the notification arrives. I really am very excited about finally getting hold of a copy.

It's a fine lens, I think you'll enjoy it. I'd recommend checking for de-centring (seems to be a common problem) and AF calibration at both ends of the zoom range.

That reminds me, I need to try to fix the AF calibration at 40mm before I got on holiday next Saturday. I'm looking forward to giving this lens a bit more of a workout.

I am buying it off Sandy Hancock so I know it is a lovely copy. I generally do calibration mid zoom, would you recommend both ends? To do that presumably you calibrate one then check it at the other, yes?
