Yashica ML Macro 55mm f2.8 (C/Y mount)

I recently updated the mount on a K-S1 to an Adaptist mount, which allows several different mounts to be used on the camera body (including K-mount)...

here is the first of the non-K's:

the Yashica on the left - it is a 1:2 macro without the matched extension, all metal-build, and a 52mm filter ring, so rather small overall for a 55mm macro lens...

I have noticed this copy is just a bit soft at full-infinity focus, but not sure if that is due to the camera mount or copy variation

but infinity isn't where a macro lens tends to live at, is it?

No it is not, but what if you dial it back just a little, I’ve noticed a lot of older lenses seem to go a tad past, whether that was designed, or just a little play from age and use I don’t know. That bokeh is nice.

Pretty good for an eleven cookie macro with the aperture ring going the wrong way, As mentioned by Steve in the other thread, I too am looking forward to zuikoville.

thank you, Tom...

I did try to back off the hard stop to see if I was just focusing beyond infinity, but not the case...

I have several options, including sending it back to the seller as faulty, but I think I like the lens enough as it is to keep it, especially at the price paid...
