Nikkor-O 35mm f2

please note: this lens has not been modified for use on a Pentax DSLR - I am using this lens on my K-S1 with an Adaptist mount on the camera....

Superb. The rendering in some of the flower photos is achingly beautiful. Which camera are you using to shoot it?

How do you like living with the Adaptist mount? I have a spare KS2 laying around I was thinking of converting to full manual lens use.

it is not without trade-offs; while you still have a fully capable k-mount camera, so far, the other mounts have limitations:

AR-mounts will not focus at infinity

C/Y-mounts are supposed to reach infinity, but the two lenses I've purchased so far do not (and I am loathe to spend any more money on that end)

metering using the green button has been hit-or-miss with two of the three non-K-mount lenses I have... so far, only the Yashica 55mm macro meters accurately...

but... the sensor on the K-S1 produces beautiful colors and wondrous textures, as the shots with both the Yashica ML 55 and this lens can attest to....

Beautiful lens, a 35mm moderate wide angle @ F2. The perfect general purpose reporters lens....back in the film days....and perhaps nowadays too.

I've been photographing with different manufacturer's equipment for over half a century and I've never noticed the different colours of the F stop settings as per the Nikkor lens of yours. Biy that would be handy when selecting particular f stops ...when your in a rush. I 'colour code; my different equipment storage...re equipment bags. Green Domke...K1, Black Domke K5, Green/Black Lowe pro K10D, etc.

BTW some beautiful photographs that follow the pix of this lens.

thank you

you mentioned the color-coding of the aperture ring of this Nikkor - the only other Nikkor I have here (55/1.2) also has a color-coded aperture ring....

I have a couple of M42 Fujinon lenses that are color-coded, as well...

Well, that sucks. AR being a bridge too far does not surprise me, but I would have expected that C/Y would have been relatively easy. That said, access to the Olympus and Nikon lenses is not something to be spurned.

Steve

yeah, it does suck.... but, I've learned a fair amount from the project so far and even if I can't get infinity from the Yashica 55 macro lens, it's worth it....
