Mine is anything but dead in it's original mount, regularly
in use by my daughter (4th picture in the post) on a BX20s.
The VEB Pentacon followed a different strategy in the transition from M42 to a bayonet mount than Pentax: They reduced the register distance so that they could create a flanged adapter. This now makes adaption to K-bayonet difficult or impossible, i.e. it's not possible to reach infinity focus. I used some of them on a Canon EOS with a very thin adapter that somebody hand-crafted in Poland.
