F/5.6 looks downright festive!

The f/5 version looks like something's gotta give!

There is stuff on the rear element...

Steve

possibly 60 years of dust....

it doesn't seem to affect the images, however...

f6.3

Thanks, I love the F8 and F6.3

I have a 105 mm F2.8 Vernon edonar ( no idea who made it for Vernon camera) witch a 15 blade aperture that collapses into a sequence of similar arcs.

I thought it would be good to show what this iris did with the bokeh because it really is part of the lens

Funny that f/11 looks perfectly octagonal, but starting at f/10 the shape is distinctly different

Yeah I snagged a like new copy of this lens just like yours about 5 years ago. It's so lovely to use, and as you've shown, produces fantastic images. I've honestly liked the portraits I've taken at f/4 as much as any macro shot.

f5.6 and f6.3 = those look fun... Actually those are the apertures I mostly use on this lens myself.

You made me look into what I had... I did not keep good albums in flickr until recently... Still, I believe I've not used this lens so much...

However, there's the 5.6 bokeh:

This one I'm pretty sure it was shot at 5.6 as well (I needed a fast shutter w some depth for this shot to come right from the location I shot - one of my favorite LIC shots:
