if I've read the history of this lens correctly, this was the first Japanese wide-angle SLR lens:

Are the intersections of the aperture blades acute enough to create a starburst when there is bright highlights, or do you get nice round bokeh?

mostly just round bokeh, nowhere near as interesting as the Macro-Takumar....
