using pentax 500 ftz flash on kx camera

I think you can us this flash but the camera has to be in the mannual mode & the flash has to be set for auto have you ever tyied this before with good results thanks

Yes, that's correct. As such, it can be somewhat of a pain, but it's usable. Check out accessory database section for details:

I thought the 500 didn't have an Auto mode outside of TTL (which the K-x dslr does not support). I think you're going to be adjusting the output in Manual mode otherwise, you'll be firing at full power all the time.

Page 18 in the PDF, 16 in the manual (if you have a printed one).
