Can I Use AF 200S Flash on my Pentax K-r

Hi Experts, I've recently purchased a K-r and today I've purchased an external flash in ebay(for 4 GBP). Can I use this flash on my K-r? I've read that the trigger voltages will affect the camera. Is that true? Appreciate the suggestions.
Else, please suggest a flash with bounce capability i mean tilt head, swivel..etc something..I don't know the technical stuff about the flashes.

Old Pentax flashes won't break any Pentax camera- but they will need to be used in manual mode

Not necessarily.

If the flash has auto mode, that can be used as well.

I used my old copy of the AF200S in auto mode. My current copy of the AF200T is used in auto mode as well.

yeah you can use the flash's auto mode, but not P mode in-camera, right?
