Newborn Photo Tips

My sister in law wants me to take some pictures of her new baby when it comes.
I have recently got a pentax k-5. with a 18-200 Sigma lens.
don't really want to use flash as it's too harsh on newborns.
what are the best settings to have my camera on to get good photos.

Go into a well lit room (add lights if you need to), bump up the iso, make sure the baby is asleep.

I don't know much about the 18-200, but I suspect you'll want to get anywhere from 50-135 in that range for a good portrait shot of the baby.
