Confirm - K mount on Takumar 70-200 F ?

I just scored the above lens on eBay for under $30 - I hear semi-good things about it. I assume it has the Pentax K mount? I'm going to be fitting it on a Canon 50D so I know I need an adapter. Just wanted to be sure. I have two older Tak's, a 135mm and a 200mm but they both have the older screw mounts. The lens outer barrel at the front just says "Takumar A Zoom 1:4 70-200mm"

If anyone can confirm that mount on this lens, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks much!

it is this lens i believe

So yep K mount

not the ideal unit for mounting on Canon, the m42 stuff is better for that.

Although named "Takumar", this lens has the K mount. I think you will need to modify the mount to use it on a Canon camera. There isn't any Pentax K to Canon adapter as far as I know. *Real* Takumar lenses work on any dslr with an adapter, just like any M42 lens out there.

Lenses labeled Takumar or Super-Takumar or Macro-Takumar or Tele-Takumar or SMC Takumar have an M42 screwmount. Lenses labeled Takumar-A or Takumar-F or Takumar Bayonet have the PK bayonet mount. These latter, nicknamed Tak-A and Tak-F and Tak-B, are generally considered to be a bit lower quality than 'real' Takumars; so if they are described accurately by sellers, they tend to fetch lower prices.

Some sellers deliberately omit the -A or -F or Bayonet descriptor, and post obscured photos to hide that. This is a similar trick to referring to a K-mount 50mm F1:2 as f/1.2 -- eBay's search tool can't distinguish between ':' and '.' -- and unwary buyers may find themselves overpaying for a rather less valuable lens than they'd thought.

Thanks!

Thank you all for the guidance. I have a PK to EOS adapter in hand, but it does not 'lock' on the Tak-A very well. Not sure if I want to spend more $$ to get one, or just recycle the lens somewhere else. My investment is minimal, but as you've noted, it's not Pentax's best effort.
