K-x shutter release button stuck?

Hi
I am having trouble with my one and a half year old K-x. Seems like the shutter release button is stuck. As soon as I turn on the camera, without pressing the shutter release button, it takes a picture and becomes unresponsive after that. When on Moving Object mode, it fires continuously until turned off. The button itself doesn't feel stuck or faulty.
Also, when the memory card is in, with the camera being off, the card access lamp starts to blink after a while and a similar sound to what floppy drives used to make is heard.

Any ideas what can be wrong?

Sounds like a hardware problem, unfortunately. I'd consider sending it in for service.

Hi Adam,
I left the camera without batteries, ready for shipping for two weeks. Now I checked it again and it seems to be working fine again.
I had tried removing the batteries before, but only for a short period. Leaving it without power for longer seemed to have fixed the problem.
Hopefully it will stay that way.
