hi adam, just wanted to ask a brief question. can you see meter in viewfinder without film in camera? i would like to know, because i'm trying to figure out if camera is working correctly. i can't tell because my camera keeps rewinding when i try to load film into camera.

I'm not Adam, but check that the rewind button on the bottom of the camera is not stuck in the rewind position.
