Not only between Kx and Kr but for all Pentax DSLR. Even more if you have proper M42 adapter.

Not only are all Pentax lenses interchangeable, but, third party lenses such as Tamron and Sigma, as well. Pentax claims that any Pentax 35mm SRL or dslr lens they have ever made can be used with any of their dslrs. That's any genuine PENTAX brand lens.

Most third-party lenses made for older Pentax film or digital slrs will work on modern Pentax dslrs. There are a couple that can cause minor problems, but there are easy workarounds.

First, the Dreaded Ricoh Pin. Ricoh used a variant of the Pentax k-mount on their SLRs. Some Ricoh mount lenses have an addition pin, not present on Pentax lenses, that can get stuck in the autofocus drive screw on a Pentax dslr. Fortunately, the pin is easily removed.

Second, a very few older Vivitar lenses have a metal shield guarding the aperture lever, that is longer than that on a similar Pentax lens. This shield can foul the lens mount in a Pentax dslr. Again, the shield is easy to remove or modify.

Other than that, there are many, many Pentax and third party lenses out there that will fit your Pentax dslr, some at very reasonable prices. Some of the old Pentax glass is second to none in terms of image quality.

In general, any lens that is marked as a "k-mount" will mount on any Pentax dslr.
