Reference WG1. night shots (With or without flash) result in a serious white bloom from any light source or reflective material I.E. candles and table cloth. Any info would be appreciated. Thank you.

You should post a few sample photos so we can see what it looks like exactly. Off the top of my head I'd say that it's because it metered on the dark area, resulting in overexposure elsewhere. You could try darkening the photo using exposure compensation or shooting in another mode.
