White balance

Does white balance affect exposure? I read that photosites are color blind in absence of bayers array. when intensity of light isnt changing, an object should look same in greyscale even when whitebalance changed.

I believe that in jpeg mode, it does but it doesn't in when shooting raw. If you have the white balance set very warm and orangey, then your red channel will probably blow out first before the others. In jpeg mode, that clipped data is gone.

Pictures saved in raw are not modified by the actual WB settings. But the data appended contain these settings (so they can be used when transforming off camera to jpg later, if wanted). And the display on the back of the camera also uses them (including LV?). If the dynamic range is big enough, you maybe able to avoid clipping (by correcting in or out of camera), but not so often if you save as jpg only.

WB and exposure are separate things.
