Display flashes red

I have a Pentax k200. At times when I review shots on the lcd display. some areas. those large areas of the same colour
e,g,a blank sky flash red.

That means those areas are overexposed. Try using bracketing or exposure compensation, or matrix metering to fix the issue. You can also disable the warning in the playback menu if you want.

Basically, it means that those areas have no detail in them whatsoever, so the final product may look worse than you'd like it to look as a result.

You can turn off that warning too - just consult your manual, look for something like "exposure warning"

Manual, page 172, "Setting the Playback Display"

1. Set [Playback Display] in the [→Playback] Menu.
2. Press the four-way controller (→).
3. Use the four-way controller (←→) to select On or Off
