Pentax Flash against Nikon D5100

can i use a Pentax AF 200S flash on a Nikon D5100 camera is this posible

Yes, you can use the AF200S with any camera, as long as the hotshoe fits (Minolta/Sony cameras have different kind of hotshoe).

I would check the trigger voltages though. I have heard some people have bricked their camera using older flashes as they have high trigger voltages. I don't know if this applies here though.

Might not be advised. On this trigger voltage page it says "your call" about using the AF200S, but with Canon. They've been reported to trigger at over 7 volts. Then again, the poster on this page (where I got the link to the other page) says that Nikon DSLR hot shoes can handle up to 250 volts. Check around to see what others have experienced with either the same flash head or a similar one. Good luck!
