I have a Pentax Optio S1 which I have been enjoying. Lately it has been taking photos with a narrow black band on either side in the display and the photos turn out very 'thin' like a panoramic shot. I don't know why this started to happen and can't find a setting to turn this off.

There should be a setting in the menu which lets you adjust the resolution and/or aspect ratio. Make sure it is set to 4:3 and the black bars should disappear
