K30 questions

Hi -
Question regarding K30 mirror & shutter behavior: I see discrepancies on various spec lists regarding mirror lock-up on the K30. Does it or does it not have MLU, and if so, how is it accessed? (I'm talking about "real" MLU, not "delayed release" like low-end Nikons.) And how does the shutter & mirror work in live view? When the shutter-release is pressed, does the mirror have to drop to cock the shutter (again, like cheap Nikons) or does the mirror remain up the whole time? Or does it have electronic first curtain like Canon?
Thanks much for any enlightenment!

Greg

The mirror remains up in LV. MLU is accessed via the delayed releaser (2s) shooting mode in the drive menu. The mirror will go up 2s before the shot is fired.

Mirror lock up in live view

At least in my K30 in live view, the mirror does not stay up when taking a photo. It comes first down, then moves up, and the picture is taken. The only "mirror lock up" is the one with 2sec delayed exposure.

Are you sure that's not just the shutter you're hearing? The shutter will always have to close, open, close, and then open again.
