self timer light

I've had a Pentax x70 for a few years and a recently the self timer light would not go off even when the power is off. When I take out the battery is the only time the light goes off, but as soon as I put the battery back in the light comes on and I haven't turned the power on yet. Is there anything I can do to fix this issue?

Sounds like something might be broken inside the camera, unfortunately If anything else ends up breaking, you can always upgrade to the X-5, which is pretty cheap.
