Tamron AF 28 - 80 lense for Pentax K1000

Is the Tamron AF 28 - 80 mm f/3.5 - 5.6 aspherical lense a good lense to use for a Pentax K1000?

It will work, but because it's an AF lens it may be difficult to focus manually. Get yourself an M series 50mm
