I have recently got a Pentax X-5 for my Birthday, and have been working my way through the manual trying things out along the way. I followed the instructions to turn on AF area selection, but the icon was grey on my screen and the 5 way controller just skipped over it as if it wasn't there. Just wondered if anyone had any ideas about this? Thanks

My first thought would be that the camera is on "auto" mode, try changing it to "P" mode first. I've never used the X-5 but I know our WG-2 will grey out icons when in auto.

Tried it and it is appears it is the same as with your WG-2, Thankyou very much
