Pictues too orange or too yellow

My pictures of oak cabinets always come out too orange or too gold. Is there an adjustment on the Pentax K-x? Thank you

You need to do a white balance in PP. If not, we need to know what lights you're shooting with and what your white balance is set too.

Turn on your Camera. On the little four segmented circle around the "OK" button, you'll see on the left side, a button labelled WB. USe the up and down arrows to select the kind of light you are shooting with, or if the oak is too yellow, set it to the light bulb symbol and press "OK". That should do it.

Can you post some pictures?
Are you shooting jpeg or RAW?

If you do any PP, these are quite easily sorted out then, if not follow normheads suggestion and that will sort it in camera.

Use a grey card to set a special WB profile.

There should be a chapter about adjusting WB by using a neutral grey card in the K-x manual.

Of course, this does not apply to flash exposures. For these, the camera provides a correct WB setting.

EDIT: If you don't have a grey card at hand, a black&white newspaper may give you about the same results.
