Hi Sajjad
18-55mm is the focal length of the lens, measured in millimetres. 18mm = 0.7 inches, (about three-quarters of an inch) or 0.059 feet. Likewise, 55mm = 2.16 inches, or 0.18 feet. In practice, that means that 18-55mm is a ZOOM lens which can be used for anything from wide-angle interior shots to portrait photography, and for quite a lot else!
