Imagining things?

When I turn my k-r on, the "shutter speed" and "aperture value" stay populated with their values for only a few seconds, then it disappears, and shows NOTHING. Complete blank. Is this something that anyone else is facing, and if so...is it a software problem?

Do they come back after you half-press the shutter button?

Yes, they do...but then it quickly disappears. The camera is about 2.5 years old...haven't done a firmware update yet...should that help?

Nope, that won't help, but in the menu, there's a setting that controls how long the light meter stays on. You'll want to increase it to 30s or whatever the maximum is, and then the info won't go away in the VF. Note, however, that this will reduce your battery life slightly.
