Can not get camera optio m30 to open

I have charged the battery, have put it back in correctly and still it will not go on. How can I tell if the battery is dead or no longer good? I had not used the camera for two years.

If you're not getting any other error messages, then it's most likely the battery. You can get a third-party battery for very cheap on amazon.

This could also be a good time to consider a new camera altogether.
