excessive exposures

My camera periodically exposes no matter what button is pushed
removing the lens (any lens) exposing and then reattaching the lens fixes the problem for a while
any thoughts would be appreciated .

Cliff, a little more information might help getting an answer.
What camera are you using?
What lenses?
When you say "exposes" do you mean the shutter fires without you touching the camera?
