Polaroid filters

I have used what I believed to be a Polaroid filter on my dslr camera. I remember using the camera with a lens on it out of an aircraft window over and ending up with a purple haze. Would this be from taking shots through the Perspex window or my confusion with the use of a uv lens. Looking forward to your replies. Thanks mark

what kind of filter did you have on it? and what was your white balance setting? was the purple haze marijuana induced (I thought they didn't let you smoke on airplanes...)?

I'm betting your images looked something like this :

Polarising filters cause these colored patterns to appear when light travels though polymers(plastics), removal of the filter is recommended. You also get this effect when photographing things through transparent blast shields and bulletproof glass.
