help - TAv shown instead of M mode

Hello. So I've been shooting with my Pentax K30 for about 6 months. Last weekend I was on a shoot when I noticed that my Manual mode wasn't working. What I mean is, when I switch the dial mode to Manual, it says TAv and when I turn it to TAv it also says TAv so I have two TAv modes and no Manual mode. I've tried taking the battery out, keeping it shut off for long periods of time, changing the lens and nothing is working. Any advice?

TAv is shown when you select auto ISO in manual mode. Disable auto ISO and "M" will be shown instead.

Yes, TAv = M + auto-ISO. With the K5 &K20D, the only advantage of having both a M and a TAV position on the AE dial is that you can use the AE dial as a way to enable/disable auto-ISO:

TAv: always auto-ISO
M: always fixed ISO.

You can't have separate shutter speed & f-stop settings for M & TAv. It's only changes auto-ISO on/off.
