TV mode on LCD all times

my camera LCD says it is in TV mode, whether in Auto,SCN P, TV, Av, M, BULB, or scene modes, on the LCD is show the correct option. I am using the Pentax 18-55 Power Zoom lens. I worry that there is a disconnect between settings and my picture. thanks for any help.
