Are Spotmatic lenses M-42 lenses

Are the lenses that I have for spotmatic I used during the late 60's and 70's M-42 lenses? Can I get an adapter and use them on my K-50?

Yes and yes...https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/58-troubleshooting-beginner-help/110658-u...x-dslrs-f.html, try to get a used original Pentax adapter, as some of the adapters on Ebay have a flange, and if you use it, you won't be able to focus to infinity...

EDIT: something like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/GENUINE-Pentax-K-to-M42-adapter-NEW-OLD-STOCK-made-i...item19f4b525c3

And you can use the M42 lenses in Av mode ....... which has advantages over the non A series lenses (i.e. M and K series). M and K series lenses must be used in M mode (or other modes wide open without aperture control) with metering done via the green button. M42 lenses will meter automatically in Av mode after you first select your desired aperture setting - neat!
