Cheap Macro

What is a good macro lens that is cheap (Under 100$?) and has good quality?
MF is what I will use so old lenses that are easy enough to get are good as well.
Used is okay.
Prime lens is also fine :-)
I have a K-50 and want to shoot macro images.
I have the 18-55 and 50-200 kit lenses.

If I had NO budget I would have a K-3 with the 100mm WR Macro and 18-135mm WR, but there is a budget :-)

M50 Macro is a nice lens, the M100 Macro is better but with some diligence you can often find them near your budget range. If you want to be more creative then some of the old F series zooms have a macro feature. They're often 1:4 or so when in Macro mode but the F35-70 is a terrific little lens and can be had for <$75 typically. Then there are the Sigma (Quantaray) brand 28-90 Macros that do a solid job for a zoom and they often go for around $50.

Pentax-M 100 f/4... has 1:2 magnification. It's a sharp lens. I found one for $85 dollars on ebay.

I have an A50, F2.8 macro that is a very sharp manual focus auto aperture lens. They can be pricey, up to $250 but can be found at $150 as well. Same optics as the F50 macro, supposedly, and one of the sharp 50 mm lenses. The M50 macro is similar sharpness I have read, without auto aperture, and can be found for around your $100 budget.

Welcome!
I think there are a couple threads about cheap macro. They offer nice solutions like buying bellows or extension tubes, reversing a lens, and so on. You can use a cheap M 50mm f1.7 with extension tubes or macro filters (raynox macro filters are really good)

Consider a Raynox 150 to use on your DA50-200. The new price is around US$70, I think, but you should be able to find a used one for a fair bit less than that.

Happy coincidence - there is one here on the marketplace for that same $ amount currently:

Another option. Get an M42 adapter and some extension tubes and an enlarging lens and an M39 to M42 adapter ring.

Or a reversing ring...

close up filters are neat and a good way to start (for me anyways as I recently got them....the only fun I've been having with all this rain) plus they are super cheap.................prolly 49mm dia for the 50-200kit.....I got 52mm dia as most of my lenses are that size and a few with 'macro' feature

52mm is the diameter of the 50-200. The Raynox CM-2000 Kit is just over 100 at B&H (use the forum links to get there) and offers a lot of flexibility.

Which one do you have? SMC DA is 52, I'm confused.
