from the owners manual . . . "Powered with one 1.5V alkaline (LR44) or silver oxide (G13) battery"

A 357 watch battery. That is what I use and was recommended as the replacement by a Batteries Plus store here in town. Found any where watch batteries are sold I get mine at the grocery store . It is also the one used in my P30t.

JeffB My owners manual says it takes an S76E or MS76H. It is an older model. I have used an LR44 as well.

The LR44 is a very common battery and can be found just about anywhere that sells watch and camera batteries. You can even find them in dollar stores and the like.

This following Wikipedia entry lists the equivalent designations used for this battery. Most common are LR44, AG13, A76, 357 Silver-Oxide versions cost more than alkaline but have less voltage drop out as they deplete and better cold weather performance.

When I had one I used lr44 batteries. It is also what I use in my p30t a.d minolta xg-m. They work fine and are cheap.

I would suggest the silver SR44 over the alkaline LR44. The cost difference is minimal, but the service life is much greater with better performance as the battery nears depletion.
