too much light

My photos are washed out. I can't adjust Fstop far enough to adjust it.

In general you should be using fstop to achieve the depth of field you want. With perhaps a bit of fine tuning to the light.

ISO and shutter speed should be your go to for adjusting the expose to the light.

If none of those are enough, polarized and neutral density filters can help.

We need more info. What is the picture of? Post an example.
What are your ISO and shutter speed? Metering mode?

In rare cases the shutter can wear out and slow down causing constant oper exposure. The aperature blade can stick causing the same thing.

But we cant answer the question without more info.

Do you think there might be something wrong with your camera? You should post a few sample photos so we can check.

check your ISO setting in the camera... it could be mistakenly set to the highest.setting possible.
