Pentax AF-540fgz Not Flashing

Well, I looked at a thread with the same above title. My 540fgz will not flash at all. The ready light will not light up.
Also, I can use the light switch & it will light up the display. But the unit will not charge up. I put good
duracell batteries in. I even checked the batteries on a volt meter.

Looks like you're up for repairs, Skipper!

Yeah Clackers. Kinda looks that way. Now I'll be looking for a reputable place to get the flash repaired!
Thanks!

Assumption: the model flash unit in question is AF-540FGZ, not AF-540FGZ II.

Before sending it out for service, make sure the charging mode is set to "PP2" and try again.

SOld Bear, I forgot to mention: it is the 540fgz, NOT the 540fgz II.

Pentax AF-540fgz Not Flashing

Okay. Here it is, the 9th of November. I just thought I should post this message.
The batteries I tried to use on the 540fgz, I thought they were okay. Last week,
I went to Sam's to do my shopping. I picked up a 48pack of Duracells.

Today, the 9th, I just thought for the heck of it, let me try these very fresh batteries, not really expecting anything.
I put in four of the new duracells; & damn!... the flash worked beautifully! I just yelled,
Thank God! No sending off for repairs. Anyway, I just thought I'd add this in here.

There was nothing wrong with the flash. What a load off my mind!
