manual lens compatibility

will older model manual lenses fit onto and function on digital slr Pentax cameras ?

if it's a k-mount, usually so...

if you could tell us what lens you are talking about, we should be able to narrow the 'yes or no' quite a bit....

The answer is YES much more than NO. There are a few K-Mount lenses with what's known as a Ricoh Pin that get stuck;you'll want to avoid those.

Any Pentax brand lens will fit. M42 lenses need an M42-K adapter, but work well otherwise.

Beware the Ricoh pin.

Something to be aware of with M42 lenses. They are not all created equally. Some are much more equal than others. I had a customer a few decades ago that got a Mamiya screw mount lens stuck on his Pentax k mount body because of a stop down pin on the lens interfering with the release mechanism.
It wasn’t good.
