Pentax 2000 slr

My Pentax K2000 SLR has been in storage in my gun safe for a few years. Batteries were not corroded, just a little weak. I put fresh batteries in but the on was only momentary and said: "batteries depleted" and went off. Can't get it to come on. Don't know why. Can anyone help?

My idea: It has a small, internal CMOS battery for the most basic functions. Could be dead now. To replace it, you need to take the camera apart, I'm afraid.

pentax ist D won't power on - PentaxForums.com is a similar problem. Try new non-rechargeable Lithium AA's or proven good Eneloops.
